(Alliance News) - Wizz Air Holdings PLC on Monday said passenger numbers substantially increased in March and its load factor was also considerably higher year-on-year.
The Budapest-based budget airline carried 2.5 million passengers in March, up significantly from just 480,203 the same time last year.
In the 12 months to March 31, Wizz Air's passenger numbers also increased sharply to 27.1 million from 10.2 million.
The March load factor was 86.2%, up from 62.5% year-on-year, Wizz Air reported. The load factor in the year to March 31 totalled 78.2%, up from 63.9%.
Wizz Air said it will continue the expansion of its operation in Romania. It plans to add a new aircraft to its base in Bucharest and one aircraft to its base in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
The budget airline also plans to add new routes across its network originating from Italy, the UK and UAE.
Shares were down 1.5% at 2,820.00 pence each on Monday morning in London.
