(Alliance News) - Budget airline Wizz Air Holdings PLC reported Friday strong growth in July from passenger numbers, whilst its load factor also widened.
Passenger numbers at FTSE 250-listed Central and Eastern Europe-focused Wizz Air rose 11% to 3.9 million from 3.5 million a year prior in July. Available seat kilometres jumped 13% to 6.6 million from 5.9 million a year prior.
Meanwhile, load factor - the number of passengers as a proportion of seats available - widened to 95.6% from 95.4% a year before.
For the rolling year ended July, Wizz Air passenger numbers increased 16% to 36.7 million from 31.7 million the same period a year prior. Available seat kilometres jumped 17% to 64.4 million from 55.1 million a year prior. Over the last 12 months, the load factor has improved to 93.2% from 91.7% for the same period a year before.
Shares in Wizz Air were 0.1% higher at 3,552.00 pence in London on Friday.
