LONDON (Alliance News) - Wizz Air Holdings PLC Tuesday said it has launched the first of two new routes between Belfast and Poland.
The airline has launched a route between Belfast and Kalowice in Poland, and Wizz will also launch a route between Belfast and Vilinius, also in Poland, on April 22. The airline said the first out-bound flight to Kalowice was fully booked and fares start from GBP39.99 per ticket.
"We know there's a substantial Polish community living in Northern Ireland, and there has been considerable interest in our new route. At the other end, Katowice is a major business and industrial centre with a population of 2.7 million people, which means there's ample scope to develop tourism," said Daniel de Carvalho, corporate communications manager at Wizz Air.
Wizz Air shares closed up 2.8% to 1,389.00 pence per share on Tuesday.
