Wizz Air issues second EUR500 million bond offering

13th Jan 2022 10:50

(Alliance News) - Wizz Air Holdings PLC announced on Thursday the pricing of its bond offering of EUR500 million 1% notes due in 2026.

The Budapest-based low-cost airline said the offering is expected to close on January 19 and was executed within the framework of the euro medium term note programme.

The joint bookrunners were Barclays PLC, BNP Paribas SA, Citigroup Inc and JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Wizz Air said it intends to use the proceeds for general purposes, including the repayment of a GBP300 million Covid corporate financing facility in February.

Chief Executive Jozsef Varadi said: "We are pleased to announce our second bond offering at even more attractive pricing levels compared to our debut offering last year. The proceeds will further support Wizz Air as it scales-up to become an even stronger low-cost player in the coming years."

Wizz Air's debut bond was an offering of EUR500 million 1.4% notes due in 2024.

The company added that it will announce its third quarter results on January 26.

Shares in Wizz Air were down 1.2% at 4,533.00 pence on Thursday in London.
