(Alliance News) - Central & Eastern Europe-focused airline Wizz Air Holdings PLC said Thursday it has appointed Jouirk Hooghe as chief financial officer, with effect on February 1.
He will be replacing Iain Weatherall. After two years in the CFO role since 2017, Weatherall will move to the newly created position within Wizz Air of chief investment officer.
Weatherall will report to the new CFO Hooghe, and will be responsible for the group's corporate finance, investor relations, and subsidiary financial governance.
Including his stint as CFO, Weatherall has been part of Wizz Air for eight years since 2011.
Hooghe will be joining from Adecco Group AG - a Swiss provider of human resources and temporary staffing firm - where he has been senior vice president for strategy, finance & accounting for a year since 2018.
"Through these appointments we are enhancing our leadership capacity and capability in our Finance function. The appointments of the executive vice president and group CFO and the chief investment officer allow us to further refine our subsidiary structure, to up our corporate finance activities and at the same time to bring further focus on our aircraft delivery program and associated financing requirements," said Chief Executive Officer Jozsef Varadi.
Shares in Wizz Air - which is headquartered in Budapest - were up 1.0% at 4,008.00 pence on Thursday in London.
