Small-cap and AIM movers in focus:
----------
Impax Asset Management Group PLC, down 24% at 96p, 12-month range 90.90p-214.50p. It says "markets have been considerably more favourable" since January, though it has seen outflows continue. The asset manager focused on a "transition to a more sustainable economy", says assets under management at its March 31 second quarter end amounted to GBP22.31 billion, down from GBP24.24 billion in December. It reports net outflows of GBP2.01 billion. "Since January, after a difficult three-year period for investment managers like Impax that focus on actively managed thematic strategies, markets have been considerably more favourable. During the second quarter, 63.4% of our AUM outperformed, notwithstanding the more recent market turbulence," CEO Ian Simm says. "As many asset owners base their investment decisions on historical numbers over at least one year, we were not surprised to see a continuation in net outflows, driven principally by redemptions from a small number of institutional investors. By contrast, net outflows in our wholesale channel were lower and we continue to see an improving trend in flows via our largest distribution partner."
----------
Atome PLC, up 20% at 72.5p, 12-month range 36.21p-75.00p. The low-carbon fertiliser developer says talks with an equity consortium for the funding of a plant at Villeta, Paraguay "are now in the very final stages with definitive documentation being finalised by each party's legal counsel". A longstop date has been extended by a week to April 17. "This date coincides with the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group 2026 Spring Meetings, held in Washington DC It is presently projected that representatives of all Project equity and debt participants will be together at that time," Atome adds.
----------
Steppe Cement Ltd, up 14% at 21.60 pence, 12-month range 15.00p-23.00p. The cement producer says sales in the first quarter rise to 344,058 tonnes for around USD19.5 million, from 276,217 tonnes for USD12.7 million a year prior. The average price per tonne climbs to around USD57 from USD47 a year prior. "Steppe Cement's market share increased to 16.0% in the first quarter of 2026 compared with 13.5% in the first quarter of 2025," it says.
----------
Secure Trust Bank PLC, up 2.5% at 1,353.00 pence, 12-month range 522.00p-1,550.00p. It does not deem it "currently necessary" to up its motor finance provision. "While there have been some welcome developments in the final rules, the ultimate financial impact remains uncertain due to a number of factors. These include several areas requiring judgement, the need for further clarification on the application of the rules, information and assistance required from vehicle dealers/brokers and the outcome of any legal challenges. The Group continues to monitor developments closely," Secure Trust says.
