Wincanton Scoops Up National Distribution Deal With Halfords

1st Jul 2015 06:45

LONDON (Alliance News) - Supply chain services company Wincanton PLC on Wednesday said it has won a contract with FTSE 250-listed car parts and bicycles retailer Halfords Group PLC.

Wincanton did not provide financial details on the contract but said it will see it become the sole operator of Halfords' national transport contract. The deal will start over the summer and will see Wincanton operate more than 80 vehicles overseeing distribution from Halfords' operational base in Coventry.

"From the beginning of our consultative relationship with Halfords, we have worked hard to develop a deep understanding of the business and build strong relationships. We're excited to now be working so closely with such a well-known and well-loved British brand, ensuring its customers receive the highest levels of service and quality," said Wincanton Chief Executive Eric Born.
