Wilmington Snaps Up Online Courses Provider Wellards

19th Jan 2016 07:56

LONDON (Alliance News) - Wilmington PLC on Tuesday said it has struck a deal worth up to GBP5.1 million to acquire JMH Publishing Ltd, an online education provider for the healthcare industry which trades at Wellards.

Wilmington, which provides risk and compliance, finance, legal and insight services, said it will pay GBP4.2 million initially, with a further GBP900,000 payment to be made once the final net current asset position has been agreed.

Kent-based Wellards runs over 70 online courses across the healthcare industry, including training courses for NHS employees. Wilmington will integrate the business with its existing Insight arm and said the deal will boost its educating and training offering in the UK and Europe.

"I am delighted to welcome Wellards to Wilmington; its addition completes one of our strategic objectives of having information, education and networking capabilities for each of our knowledge areas," said Wilmington Chief Executive Pedro Ros.

"I am particularly excited by the scalability of the online products both in the broader healthcare industry and internationally where we can utilise our existing market access in particular to the French and German healthcare markets," Ros added.
