LONDON (Alliance News) - Investment vehicle Wilmcote Holdings PLC said Tuesday it has appointed former ICI Chief Executive John McAdam as a non-executive director.
Wilmcote has also appointed current Director James Corsellis as its chairman.
McAdam's appointment is effective from next Monday. He headed up ICI before its takeover by Akzo Nobel in 2008.
Before that, he was at Unilever PLC for 24 years where he held "a number" of senior management positions. He was also senior independent director at J Sainsbury PLC from 2005 to 2016.
He is currently chairman of both United Utilities Group PLC and Rentokil Initial PLC.
Chief Executive Adrian Whitfield said: "John brings a wealth of experience to Wilmcote's board, both from his extensive career as a senior executive, as well as from his time serving on the boards of some of the UK's most prominent listed businesses.
"John also has a deep understanding of the Chemicals sector, which will be invaluable as we seek to identify target assets in the downstream and specialty chemicals industry. We are delighted to have John on the Board as we progress with executing our investment strategy."
Shares were untraded Tuesday, last quoted at 107.00 pence each.
Wilmcote was launched by Marwyn Value Investors Ltd in March 2017 - it is targeting the acquisition of businesses in the downstream and specialty chemical sectors.
