WideCells Appoints Jeremy Lea As Chief Operating Officer

9th Jul 2018 11:26

LONDON (Alliance News) - Stem cell-focused healthcare services company WideCells Group PLC said on Monday it has appointed Jeremy Lea as chief operating officer.

He will be replacing Lopes Gil, who is stepping down from the role for "personal reasons", but will stay at the company as an advisor.

Lea will be responsible for building on revenue and leading WideCells' portfolio of stem cell services including CellPlan, the first stem cell healthcare insurance plan, stem cell storage service WideCells and education and training division Wideacademy.

Lea will be promoted from the group's stem cell storage and research division WideCells UK Ltd since January, and before that was commercial leader for laboratory products manufacturer Cole-Parmer Ltd for a year from August 2016 to August 2017.

"Having worked with Jeremy, we understand his ability to develop commercial models and the operations around them. His understanding of our business, commercial acumen, global sales experience and knowledge of the healthcare sector make him well qualified to assume the role of Group COO as we look to deliver significant revenue, profit and market share growth," said Chief Executive Officer Joao Andrade.

Shares in WideCells were down 0.7% at 2.78 pence on Monday.
