(Alliance News) - Wey Education PLC on Friday said it hired Sara de Freitas as an executive director.
Freitas, whose joined the company on Thursday, is currently a governor of the University of Sunderland, in the north east of England. She was previously pro-vice chancellor & director of digital education at Aston University.
"Sara is an experienced higher education leader in the UK and Australia and has held various senior executive roles", Wey said.
"I am delighted to welcome Sara to the company. Her experience in digital education is highly impressive and will help Wey in delivering its vision of continuous innovation in live online education," said Wey Chair Barrie Whipp.
"The group is targeting further executive appointments to help deliver growth, not just through marketing but by an ever-improving individual-focused, immersive and rewarding platform," he added.
Shares in the online education services firm were up 1.3% at 14.44 on Friday morning in London.
