(Alliance News) - JD Wetherspoon PLC on Wednesday said it will open all 60 of its pubs in Scottish towns and cities from April 26.
This comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said April 26 will be the earliest date that pubs, cafes and restaurants can reopen.
The pubs will serve food and non-alcoholic drinks indoors and alcoholic drinks outdoors, in accordance with Scottish government rules, Wetherspoons said.
Under the rules, pubs will be allowed to serve customers outdoors in groups of up to six, from a maximum of three households, until 10pm. Indoor service will be allowed for groups of up to four from two households until 8pm.
Seven hotels which are part of the pubs will also open on April 26. All restrictions on journeys in mainland Scotland are due to be lifted on that date.
Helen Dumbreck, Wetherspoon's regional manager for Scotland, said: "We are looking forward to welcoming both customers and staff back to our pubs.
"Each of our pubs will observe all the necessary safety rules around Covid-19."
Wetherspoon shares were down 1.5% at 1,375.98 pence each in London.
