Westminster Has Not Seen Hit From Ebola Outbreak, Monitoring Closely

30th Jul 2014 13:24

LONDON (Alliance News) - Westminster Group PLC said Wednesday said that it has not seen any "material impact" on flights and passenger numbers as a result of the recent Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

The outbreak is currently hitting several countries in West Africa, including the country's airport where Westminster's aviation division provides security. It has never named the airport where it provides security, but names Virgin Airways Nigeria among its clients on its website.

Westminster said that it has already implemented precautionary measures to protect its staff working in the airport, and it is working with authorities and major airlines to ensure that all travellers undergo a screening system before travelling.

Two small African carriers have ceased flights to several countries concerned, although there are no travel restrictions to the country begin advocated by either the Foreign Office or World Health Organisation, Westminster noted.

Westminster said it was closely monitoring the situation.

Shares in Westminster were trading down 2.5% at 51.69 pence Wednesday afternoon.
