(Alliance News) - Westminster Group PLC said on Friday it has won a GBP1.7 million security contract for two airports in south east Africa.
Shares in Westminster Group were up 8.4% at 3.09 pence on Friday afternoon in London following the announcement.
The Oxfordshire-based security company said the contract was funded by the European Investment Bank and involves the upgrading of equipment, including new x-ray screening and metal detection equipment, an advanced CCTV surveillance system and new control and command centres at both airports.
Westminster didn't name the two airports.
Installation works are expected to begin in the new year, and the project is expected to be during 2022.
Westminster added that, despite the impact of Covid-19, it has a "healthy" cash balance that is sufficient for current requirements.
