Westminster Group Buys Trade, Name And Website Of GXS Aviation

10th Sep 2013 06:51

LONDON (Alliance News) - Westminster Group PLC Tuesday said it has bought the trade, trade name and website of GXS Aviation Ltd, a move it says will expand its managed services business.

GXS was founded in 2002 by Mike Lord, who grew it into an aviation services business with certified status from the UK Department for Transport. It provides aviation security consultancy services worldwide to existing and start-up airline and airport operations such as Air Canada, Zoom Airlines, Omni Air Transport, Servisair and Premiere Handling.

Its services include security operative and supervisor training, air cargo training programmes, dangerous goods awareness, and services such as aircraft load planning and passenger services.

Lord will join Westminster's Aviation Security Services unit as training director and will get an incentivised package including 30,000 share options in Westminster under its Share Option Scheme as payment for transferring the business, Westminster Group said in a statement.

No other financial details were provided.
