Webis's WatchandWager Signs Betting Deal For New York Racetracks

10th Jun 2014 10:40

LONDON (Alliance News) - Webis Holdings PLC Tuesday said its subsidiary WatchandWager.com LLC has signed a deal with the New York Racing Association to allow wagering by WatchandWager customers on all NYRA racetracks.

The gaming and technology firm said the contract was signed last week and was approved to go live by the New York State Gaming Commission on June 6, allowing wagering to occur before last Saturday's major horse race, the Belmont Stakes.

The company said the annual deal, which covers three of the US' most prestigious tracks Arlington, Belmont and Saratoga, also covers the rights to video streaming of the races as well as certain wagering rights.

Webis Holdings did not announce the financial details of the contract.

However, the company said the deal represents the end of Watchand Wagers' content acquisition drive, leaving the company with a wide range of content in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Hong Kong, among others.

Webis Holdings shares were up 15% to 3.4612 pence, putting it in the top-ten AIM ALL-Share risers on Tuesday.
