(Alliance News) - Watches of Switzerland Group PLC on Wednesday said it has appointed Ian Carter, a long-serving executive at Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc, as non-executive chair.
The British retailer of Swiss watches noted that Carter has been with Hilton Worldwide for the last 15 years. In June, he announced he would be stepping down as president of Global Development, Architecture, Design & Construction and leaving Hilton.
Before joining Hilton, Carter was an officer and president of Black & Decker Corp.
Carter's appointment to Watches of Switzerland is effective November 1. The company's current senior independent director, Tea Colaianni, has taken over as interim chair and will stay in the role until Carter joins.
Shares in Watches of Switzerland were down 1.7% at 402.50 pence in London on Wednesday afternoon.
