WANdisco Revenue Up In First Quarter, Although Bookings Down

23rd Apr 2015 07:32

LONDON (Alliance News) - WANdisco PLC Thursday said revenue in the first quarter of 2015 rose 20% to USD3.0 million from USD2.5 million a year earlier, boosted by the roll-out of deferred revenue from sales bookings in previous periods.

However, sales bookings in the quarter were down to USD2.0 million, from USD4.0 million in the previous year, as some substantial sales opportunities were impeded by the timing of customer purchases. The software firm noted that it expects volatility in its quarterly bookings as it is in a period of "rapid evolution" in its products and partnerships.

Bookings from its application lifecycle management products were USD1.6 million in the quarter, down from USD3.8 million, due to the business transitioning to a dedicated sales force under new leadership.

Bookings from its Big Data product rose to USD400,000 from USD200,000 as it won four contracts, including UK insurance price comparison site comparethemarket.com.

Shares in WANdisco are trading flat at 230.00 pence Thursday morning.
