(Alliance News) - WANdisco PLC said Tuesday it has formed a partnership with unified analytics platform provider Databricks to simplify the migration of analytics workloads from processing framework Hadoop to Azure Databricks.
The joint solution between the live data company and Databricks will use WANdisco's LiveMigrator product to provide reliable and continuous data migration from Hadoop to Azure Databricks's Delta Lake, a storage layer ensuring reliability for machine learnings and data analytics.
LiveMigrator allows unstructured data to be migrated to the cloud with no downtime, and Azure Databricks is an engineering and machine learning platform, which offers an interactive workspace between data scientists, engineers and business analysts.
"By combining WANdisco's LiveMigrator with Delta Lake, enterprises get the best of both worlds - seamless and secure migration of petabyte-sized data to the cloud and the power of strong, cloud-based analytics," said Chair and CEO David Richards.
"With this partnership, enterprises have a powerful option to quickly and painlessly move their organization to the cloud and take advantage of increased productivity, security and insightful data analytics available to employees anywhere at any time," Richards added.
Shares in WANdisco were up 5.4% at 527.00 pence on Tuesday.
