LONDON (Alliance News) - WANdisco PLC said Tuesday it has launched the Non-Stop HBase, a database for Big Data real-time transaction processing.
The software provider said it has applied it active-active replication technology to HBase, making it continuously available across multiple data centers. WANdisco said the product eliminates the single points of failure in HBase.
HBase is an open source, non-relational, distributed database modeled on Google's BigTable and used for random, real-time read/write access to Big Data, said WANdisco. The capability has been added to the Hortonworks and Cloudera distributions and can be used in conjunction with Hadoop.
David Richards, Executive Chairman and CEO, said, "We've eliminated the risk of downtime and data loss by enabling HBase to be continuously available on a global scale."
Shares in WANdisco were trading up 11.34% at 1,375 pence per share, one of the biggest gainers on the AIM market.
