WANdisco Gets Oracle Certification, Bookings Up 11% In Second Quarter

17th Jul 2014 12:04

LONDON (Alliance News) - WANdisco PLC said its non-stop Hadoop product for Cloudera Inc was certified for distribution on Oracle Corp's pre-configured servers Thursday, as it saw bookings rise 11% in its second quarter to the end of June.

The software company said bookings rose to USD3.4 million, of which USD3.3 million were from its established application life-cycle management products. This rose 9% from USD3.1 million the previous year. However, bookings were hit by delayed decisions from some its larger customers, said the company.

USD100,000 of bookings came from its new Big Data products, down from USD200,000 in the new before, as it won a new subscription from a wholesale logistics technology provider to the pharmaceuticals industry.

It is currently running its non-stop Hadoop software as part of pre-contract evaluations with prospective customers, it said, and expects a "significant proportion" to convert to contracts by the end of the year.

During the quarter the company acquired OhmData Inc for USD2.1 million, paid in stock. WANdisco said that the acquisition will enhance its ability to develop further replication technology.

The certification from Oracle means that WANdisco's product has been certified for use on Oracle's Big Data Appliance servers. Upon receiving the certification the company has also become a 'Gold level' member of Oracle's PartnerNetwork, which it said is a "major move forward" in its distribution strategy.

Shares in WANdisco were trading up 0.9% at 575.00 pence Thursday afternoon.
