WANdisco Enters African Market Via USD3 Million Deal With Micro-D

20th Nov 2019 13:34

(Alliance News) - WANdisco PLC on Wednesday said it has secured a distribution contract with Micro-D, an African IT company.

The live data firm said the agreement will initially see its patented Fusion platform deployed across key enterprises in the region. Through its network of resellers and partners, Micro-D will deploy WANdisco's suite of products to enable cloud migration and continuous data availability for customers.

WANdisco's Fusion enables organisations to seamlessly move large volumes of data with consistent and continuous availability whilst meeting regulatory requirements.

WANdisco said the contract is valued at USD3 million over three years with potential to expand as Micro-D leverages its network of resellers across Africa.

"The need for data consistency and data availability is a global trend driven by the need for enterprises to leverage their key asset, data, through machine learning and AI," said Chief Executive David Richards.

"Africa is clearly a growth region and I see further potential in leveraging our embedded Azure offering which we continue to expect will be available and revenue generating in early 2020, if not even earlier in this current 2019 year," added Richards.

WANdisco shares were trading 0.3% higher in London on Wednesday afternoon at 359.00 pence each.
