LONDON (Alliance News) - WANdisco PLC said Monday that it had acquired San Francisco-based OhmData Inc for USD2.1 million in shares.
WANdisco will issue 274,477 new shares, equivalent to 1.1% of its current shares in issue, as part of the acquisition.
OhmData develops database products based on the Apache HBase database, which is a core component of the Hadoop stack for processing large-scale data sets in real time.
WANdisco has recently applied its continuous availability technology to the HBase database, and said that the addition of OhmData will be a "major contribution to further developing the WANdisco Non-Stop HBase product."
OhmData has three employees, and co-founders Alex Newman and Ryan Rawson will join WANdisco as part of the acquisition.
Shares in WANdisco last traded flat at 515.00 pence Monday morning.
