LONDON (Alliance News) - Walker Greenbank PLC said Wednesday that brand sales in the UK rose 10% in the first five months of the year and that it remains confident for its full-year outlook.
In a statement released ahead of the interior furnishings group's annual general meeting, Chairman Terry Stannard said that the current financial year has started well and that trading continues to be positive with its UK sales performing particularly strongly.
"In the first five-and-a-half months of the current year, brand sales overall are up 6.0% in reportable currency compared with the same period last year. In the UK, our largest market, brand sales are up 10.3%. Our overseas brand sales are down 0.1% in reportable currency but up 4.7% in constant currency," said Stannard.
The company said that its manufacturing division has performed well and that it remains confident in its outlook for the remainder of the year.
Walker Greenbank's brands include Sanderson, Morris & Co., Harlequin, Zoffany, Scion and Anthology.
Shares in the company were trading 2.92% higher at 201.64 pence per share Wednesday morning.
