LONDON (Alliance News) - Wallpaper, upholstery and furnishings fabrics company Walker Greenbank PLC Monday reported strong UK sales for the last six months, although the strength of sterling weighed on its overseas sales.
The maker of brands including Sanderson, Morris & Co., Harlequin, Zoffany, Scion and Anthology said UK brand sales were up 10.0% on the year in the six months to July 31. Overseas brand sales were down 1.2%, although they would have risen 3.6% if currency rates had remained unchanged.
Overall brand sales were therefore up 5.3% in the period, and the company said it remains confident in its full-year outlook.
It will release its full half-year results on October 1.
Walker Greenbank shares were up 0.6% at 203.22 pence early Monday.
