Walker Greenbank Hires Ex-Mulberry COO Lisa Montague As New CEO

5th Mar 2019 10:54

LONDON (Alliance News) - Luxury furnishings firm Walker Greenbank PLC said Tuesday it hired the former chief operating officer of handbag maker Mulberry Group PLC as its new chief executive officer from April 10.

Lisa Montague - who served as COO at AIM-listed Mulberry between 2003 and 2009 - will replace Interim Executive Chair Christopher Rogers. Rogers stepped up to the role in October following the resignation of former CEO John Sach.

Since leaving Mulberry, Montague has served as boss of Madrid-based fashion brand Loewe SA and then leather goods maker Aspinal of London Group Ltd.

On April 10 - when Montague assumes the helm at Walker Greenbank - current Interim Executive Chair Rogers will return to his previous role as non-executive director at the firm. Current Non-Executive Director Dianne Thompson will then become non-executive chair.

"Dianne and I are delighted to welcome Lisa Montague to Walker Greenbank as the company's chief executive officer," Rogers said. "Lisa brings a huge amount of experience from luxury and aspirational brand-based businesses and has particular strengths in brand development, commercial strategy and international growth."

"This appointment, which follows our recent appointment of Dianne Thompson as chairman, completes the re-shaping of the board and secures the next stage in the development of the company with the objective of delivering value for shareholders," Rogers added.

Shares in Walker Greenbank were 1.9% lower at 65.22 pence on Tuesday.
