LONDON (Alliance News) - W Resources PLC on Thursday said tungsten concentrate production has started at the La Parrilla mine in Spain ahead of schedule.
The junior miner, which has tungsten, copper and gold assets in Spain and Portugal, said the rate of tungsten concentrate production at La Parrilla is expected to ramp-up over the next six months. A new crusher will be installed on the site in early 2017, cutting unit operating costs and increasing capacity.
"It is a great milestone to see a smooth plant start-up and first tungsten concentrate production. While there could be many ramp-up challenges over the coming months, we have a skilled and committed team in place to increase production and lay the groundwork for a substantial increase in production in 2017," said Michael Masterman, W Resources' chairman.
Shares in W Resources were up 2.5% at 0.48p on Thursday morning.
