LONDON (Alliance News) - W Resources PLC Monday said it had produced the first tungsten concentrate at its La Parilla Tailings project in southwest Spain, following completion of the testing and commissioning of the pre-concentration and concentration plants.
The tungsten and gold exploration and development firm said testing of the pre-concentration plant has confirmed its capability to produce sufficient material to meet the concentration plant input capacity, and stockpiles have been built up in advance.
W Resources said its operations team is currently adjusting the different items of equipment in the concentration plant in order to achieve the forecast quality and quantity of the concentrate and to optimise production capacity.
"It is anticipated to take another three to six weeks to fine tune operation of the concentrate plant and then steadily bring it up to full production rates," the company said.
W Resources added that talks with customers are progressing well and initial sample testwork is underway.
The stock was trading at 0.969 pence Monday morning, up 0.044 pence or 4.8%.
