(Alliance News) - Miner W Resources PLC on Wednesday said it has started operations at its Regua tungsten mine in Portugal following an updated JORC resource estimate.
The revised resource estimate confirms 4.5 million tonnes of ore at a tungsten trioxide grade of 0.27%.
W Resources Chair Michael Masterman said: "This will be W's second tungsten mine to come on stream, following the start of production at La Parrilla at the end of last year. It's great to kick-off mining and development of Regua, where we see significant synergies between La Parrilla and Regua with materially lower capital costs at the Regua plant site and increased La Parrilla final concentrate production."
Shares in the company were 0.6% lower at 0.30 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
