VR Education Extends Agreement With US Space & Rocket Center

20th Dec 2019 15:00

(Alliance News) - VR Education Holdings PLC said Friday it has extended its commercial agreement with the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama for the Apollo 11 VR experience for a further 12 months.

The virtual reality technology company, focused on VR's use in education and training, said the agreement was extended following the successful initial trial period.

Apollo 11 VR experience provides visitors with the opportunity to experience the moon landing within virtual reality using a shortened version of the VR Education's showcase Apollo 11 VR experience, the company noted.

Chief Executive Officer David Whelan said: "It has proven to be a popular addition to the museum for its visitors and has generated an additional revenue stream for both parties involved. We look forward to continuing our strong working relationship with the US Space & Rocket Center and allowing their visitors to experience one of the greatest moments of our time."

The company also said its VR training and education platform ENGAGE has launched on HTC's Viveport ecosystem, which supports Android-based devices such as the Vive Focus and Vive Focus Plus, with the latter targeting professional and corporate clients.

Whelan said: "The ENGAGE platform is now available to this rapidly growing Asian market via Viveport and will appeal to businesses and corporations seeking to provide rapid deployment of training materials to their workers."

VR Education shares were up 0.3% in London at 7.02 pence each on Friday.
