Vodafone Buys New Greek Spectrum To Boost 4G Services

LONDON (Alliance News) - Vodafone PLC Tuesday said it has bought spectrum in the 800 MHz band and 2600 MHz band in Greece through an auction by the country's telecoms regulator for EUR124.5 million.

In a statement, the company said the licenses will last for 15 years, and it will use the spectrum to expand its 4G coverage in the region and enhance its inddor $g signal quality.

"This investment in spectrum enables us to increase our coverage and deliver faster, more reliable communications to our customers," Vodafone Greece Chief Executive and Chairman Glafkos Persianis said in a statement.

Vodafone shares were up 0.3% at 194.35 pence Tuesday afternoon.
