Vivo Energy Appoints William Grand Prix Executive As Finance Chief

25th Nov 2020 08:07

(Alliance News) - Vivo Energy PLC on Wednesday announced the appointment of Douglas Lafferty as chief financial officer with effect on March 5, 2021.

He will first be appointed to the board as CFO designate on February 1, and will take up the full role a month afterwards, replacing Johan Depraetere after nine years in the role since 2012.

Lafferty's most recent role was as CFO of Williams Grand Prix Holdings PLC, for three years since September 2017, leaving in August following the conclusion of the Formula One car manufacturer's strategic review.

"It has been a great pleasure working alongside Johan over the last eight years to build Vivo Energy into the company it is today, and he will be sorely missed by all of us. We wish him all the best for the future. Whilst we are sad to see Johan go, we are delighted to welcome Doug as his successor. The board and I believe his track record of financial leadership, exposure to emerging markets and commercial acumen mean that he is ideally suited to the role," said Chief Executive Officer Christian Chammas.

Shares in Vivo Energy were down 2.9% at 84.50 pence London on Wednesday, and its Johannesburg shares were untraded, last quoted at ZAR18.01.
