Victrex Appoints Richard Armitage As New Finance Head

LONDON (Alliance News) - Specialty chemicals firm Victrex PLC said Wednesday it appointed Richard Armitage as its finance director-designate from April 9.

Armitage will replace current Finance Director Louisa Burdett from the start of May in order to ensure an "orderly transition". Burdett announced her intention to leave in December.

Armitage currently served as finance director at Ginsters cornish pasty-maker Samworth Brothers.

"I am looking forward to welcoming Richard to Victrex," Victrex Chief Executive Officer Jakob Sigurdsson said. "He joins at a good time for us, with a healthy core business, a strong pipeline of new products and a highly cash generative business model. I would also like to thank Louisa for her contribution to Victrex and the support she has given to me since joining the business. We all wish her well."

Shares in Victrex were 0.3% lower at 2,472.00 pence on Wednesday.
