Victoria Oil & Gas Connects Electricity Units In Cameroon

4th Jun 2014 11:39

LONDON (Alliance News) - Victoria Oil & Gas PLC Wednesday said its subsidiary, Gaz du Cameroun SA has connected three gas fired electricity generation units to customer sites in Douala, Cameroon.

The oil and gas company said the new connections replace grid power at the dairy, plastic mouldings and flour mill sites in Douala and noted that three further units are now installed and connected at the Guinness Brewery site, with expectations for them to come online soon following a production tie-in period.

The company said the combined capacity of the six generation units is nine megawatts and that under expected power usage, the average gas consumption for the customers is expected to be roughly 750,000 square feet per day.

Gaz du Cameroun generation units supply cheaper and consistent power with stable loads, which should not lead to any outages at the sites in Cameroon.

The company said a production update will be announced once all of the sites are brought online and an adequate period of use has been monitored.

Victoria Oil & Gas shares were up 4.8% to 1.11 pence on Wednesday.
