Victoria kicks off new ceramics production line to boost earnings

26th Nov 2025 11:58

(Alliance News) - Victoria PLC on Wednesday said production has started at its new ceramics production line, which the company anticipates will deliver a EUR15 million per year improvement to earnings.

Shares in Victoria rose 6.9% to 41.31 pence on Wednesday morning in London.

The Worcester, England-based designer, manufacturer, and distributor of flooring products plans said the Ceramics division completed the commissioning of the V4 production line at its Keraben subsidiary in Spain.

Victoria said it expects V4 to "deliver a step-change in earnings due to its scale and efficiency", contributing EUR15 million per annum to the company's earnings once at full capacity.

Earlier this year, Victoria reported that its full-year pretax loss widened to GBP266.8 million from GBP116.9 million the year before, with the loss for UK & Europe Ceramic Tiles a major contributor.

The total operating loss for UK & Europe Ceramic Tiles had deepened to GBP113.7 million from GBP21.3 million the prior year.

Victoria said on Wednesday it "has taken significant steps to reorganise its Ceramics division, reducing costs and improving operational efficiency while protecting the structural capacity required to support an expected recovery in demand."

Ceramics Chief Executive Jose Luis Llacuna said: "This is an enormous milestone for the ceramics business - our line has been designed and built to deliver unmatched efficiency, precision and quality. We already have a talented and committed team in place who have been able to hit the ground running and, as CEO of the division, I'm extremely proud of what we're doing at Keraben."

Executive Chair Geoff Wilding added: "The benefit the group will see in the coming years is considerable and we are confident that our team in Spain will continue to deliver to the high standards they've set."
