LONDON (Alliance News) - Investment company Vertu Capital Ltd said Tuesday it appointed Mark Simmonds as non-executive director with immediate effect.
Simmonds held the position of foreign and commonwealth office minister responsible for Africa, the Caribbean and UK overseas territories international energy and conflict prevention. He also served as a member of the UK Parliament for 14 years.
On two occasions, Simmonds chaired the UN Security Council on two occasions.
Currently he holds a series of international roles including chairman of the Global Advisory Board of investment platform 'Invest Africa'.
He is also currently chief executive officer of Mortlock Simmonds Ltd.
Shares in Vertu Capital were untraded on Tuesday. they closed at 1.18 pence on Friday.
