LONDON (Alliance News) - Engineering materials start-up Versarien PLC Monday said it has launched a water-cooled PC, which it thinks will offer significant operational advantages in comparison to conventional fan-cooled computers.
Predicting it will disrupt the way the whole computer industry makes PCs, the company said water-cooled PCs offer greater processing power, higher reliability and quieter running noise.
It has developed a material that it claims to be more effective at heat transfer, and then developed a PC using that technology. It now plans to deliver its own product range of water-cooled PCs.
"The release of the VersarienPC range represents an exciting new phase in the Company's progression," Versarien founder Chief Executive Neill Ricketts said in a statement. "With these products we can show the effectiveness of our pioneering thermal management technology and its ability to boost performance while simultaneously extending operational lifespan.
Versarien's shares were down 3.2% at 15 pence Monday morning. The business listed on AIM in June.
