LONDON (Alliance News) - Engineering materials group Versarien PLC on Monday said it has been granted US patent protection for its volume graphene platelet production process.
The company had already secured European patent protection and has now added the US protection to its arsenal, in partnership with the University of Ulster.
"We are delighted to have secured a patent in the largest of the global markets which will allow us to accelerate the development of commercial applications for graphene and graphene products. Following the granting of the patent we intend to increase our marketing activities in the US and progress discussions with potential clients there," said Chief Executive Neill Ricketts.
Shares in Versarien were up 5.7% to 19.95 pence early Monday.
