Verditek Appoints David Willetts As Non-Exec Chairman; Valle To Leave

26th Apr 2018 14:40

LONDON (Alliance News) - Verditek PLC on Thursday said it appointed David Willetts as non-executive chairman with immediate effect and said that Non-Executive Director Jose Valle will step down next month.

Willetts' appointment came after Verditek Non-Executive Chairman Geoff Nesbitt was appointed as interim chief executive officer due to CEO Theo Chapman's resignation in early February.

The clean technology company said that Willetts is a member of the House of Lords and has previously served as minister for universities of science in the UK coalition government and was a member of Parliament for Havant.

In addition, he is a chairman of Eight Great Technologies Fund and a visiting professor at King's College London.

Verditek also said Non-Executive Director Jose Valle will resign on May 9 to take a role of non-executive chairman at a Spanish banking institution, subject to regulatory approval by the Bank of Spain.

"Lord Willetts has an outstanding track record in supporting the development of science and technology," said Nesbitt. "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jose Luis for his contribution to the company and wish him well in his endeavours."

Shares in Verditek were trading 4.0% higher at 6.50 pence per share on Thursday.
