Velocys Says Envia Reactor Manufacturing Complete

2nd Sep 2015 07:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Gas-to-liquids technology company Velocys PLC on Wednesday said the manufacturing of the Fischer-Tropsch reactors at the Envia Energy Oklahoma City GTL project has been completed.

Commercial production of the catalyst charge reactor for the Envia plant has also been completed and has been certified by Velocys' quality control protocols.

Envia Energy is a joint venture between Velocys, Waste Management Inc, NRG Energy Inc and Ventech Engineers International LLC. The companies are aiming to produce renewables fuels and chemicals from biogas and natural gas using gas-to-liquid technology.

"Velocys continues its drive towards our goals, first and foremost being the delivery of our commercial reference plant in Oklahoma City. The completion of the catalyst and reactors is an important milestone, and we and our joint venture partners continue to make solid progress on ENVIA's project," said Susan Robertson, Velocys' chief financial officer and acting chief executive.

Velocys shares were up 2.0% to 89.77 pence early Wednesday.
