LONDON (Alliance News) - Vedanta Resources PLC on Monday said its Vedanta Ltd subsidiary has secured the necessary approvals to start iron ore mining operations in Goa in India.
Vedanta said it is set to restart mining operations from its Codli mine in Sanguem taluka, its largest mine in the area, on Monday.
Vedanta said the mining will recommence amid a challenging iron ore market environment and it said it is continuing to work with the Indian government to improve competitiveness of Indian exports.
Shares in Vedanta were down 0.9% to 442.9 pence on Monday morning.
