Vedanta Resources To Seek Shareholder Approval On Proposed Acquisitions

LONDON (Alliance News) - Vedanta Resources PLC Tuesday said it has announced a General Meeting of Vedanta shareholders to discuss proposed acquisitions in India.

The FTSE 100-listed global natural resources company said at the meeting, scheduled for October 30, the company will seek approval for the acquisition of minority interests in Hindustan Zinc Limited and Bharat Aluminium Company Limited.

Vedanta shares were up 1.0% to 1,039 pence in early trading Tuesday.
