Vast Resources To Appoint New Chief Financial Officer And Non-Exec

19th Aug 2016 10:41

LONDON (Alliance News) - Vast Resources PLC Friday said Chief Financial Officer Pierre Joubert plans to resign at the end of September as it begins searching for his replacement, adding it is in talks with an experienced individual about joining the board as a new non-executive.

The mining company operating in Romania and Zimbabwe said Joubert plans to leave the company on September 30 once the results for the financial year to the end of March 2016 have been published and the company's annual general meeting has been held.

Vast said a UK-based replacement would be sought to replace Joubert.

In addition, the miner said it is "advanced discussions" with a "figure based in the City of London with significant mining experience" about joining the board as a non-executive director. If that appointment goes ahead, Graham Brigss would step down from his current non-executive role to become chief executive of the company's operations in Zimbabwe, it said.

"These changes will have the effect of rebalancing the board and management in light of of the company's increasing operations in Europe," said Vast.

Vast shares were trading up 3.5% to 0.300 pence per share on Friday.
