Value And Income Equity Portfolio Rises 3.3% But Property Portfolio Slower

LONDON (Alliance News) - Value and Income Trust PLC Tuesday said it outperformed its benchmark index over the half-year, following an independent revaluation of its portfolio on September 30, with its equity and property portfolios both rising in value over the period.

The trust's shares were Tuesday morning quoted at 272.24 pence, up 1.8%.

Its net asset value, with debt at part value, rose by 3.8% in the six months to September 30, while the FTSE All-Share Index rose by 1.9% over the half-year.

The capital value of its equity portfolio rose by 3.3% compared to the 1.9% rise of the index, but the capital value of its property portfolio rose by 0.4%.

Its equities make up 72% of its overall portfolio, with 26% comprising its property portfolio. The remaining 2% is made up of net current assets.
