LONDON (Alliance News) - Property developer Urban&Civic PLC on Friday said planning consent has been received for its city centre development in Manchester.
The new scheme, approved by Manchester City Council on Thursday in a unanimous decision, will comprise two residential buildings, a 4-star hotel, ground floor commercial units and a new landscaped public square.
Work on the initial phase of the development is expected to start in mid-2016, slightly ahead of schedule, with new residents due to move in 20 months later.
"We are fully grateful for the support of all concerned. Urban&Civic very much see ourselves as long term investors in Manchester, having built No1 Deansgate and Green Quarter in our previous business. The city is continuing to grow economically and culturally and we are determined to make our own contribution to that process," said Urban&Civic Executive Chairman Nigel Hugill.
