LONDON (Alliance News) - Low-cost airline Wizz Air Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it has appointed a new chief financial officer and reported growth in passenger numbers and load factor in February.
The Central and Eastern European-focused carrier said Sonia Jerez Burdeus will become chief financial officer from June 1. She joins from Spanish budget carrier Vueling Airlines SA, part of International Consolidated Airlines Group SA, where she had been finance chief since 2011.
Wizz Air also said its load factor increased by 2.6 percentage points in February to 86.4% from 83.7% a year earlier, as the number of passengers carried grew 22% to 1.4 million from 1.2 million.
On a rolling 12-month basis, its load factor was up by 1.6 percentage points to 88.2% from 86.6%, while passengers carried rose 22% to 19.7 million from 16.2 million.
Wizz Air shares were up 0.9% to 1,890.00p.
