(Alliance News) - Harland & Wolff Group Holdings PLC on Friday said that strike action at its Methil facility has been called off.
The company explained it held "extensive" conservations with the trade union representatives and have since reached an agreement to provide in-principle trade union recognition by the end of the week.
Formal trade union recognition will come once the necessary legal and administrative processes have been completed, it added.
Earlier on Friday, Harland & Wolff noted a "wildcat strike" of its workforce at the Methil facility in Scotland. The company said it sought legal advice at the time and was convinced that the strike was illegal.
Shares in the Belfast-based offshore construction company were up 0.8% at 13.74 pence on Friday afternoon in London.
