UPDATE: Sefton Resources Investigating How Confidential Info Got On Web

4th Sep 2013 10:47

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sefton Resources PLC Wednesday said it was urgently how confidential internal information had been published on a website and believes that its computer systems may have been hacked.

It said the information that appeared is not entirely genuine and shouldn't be relied upon.

The company said its financial results for the six months to June 30 are still under preparation and are expected to be ready to be officially released later this month.

Tom Winnifrith, a blogger who was in dispute with the company's former Chief Executive who stood down last week, wouldn't name the website, but said it had published the interim results and what purport to be internal emails. He also said the site had made suggestions about the private life of a Sefton employee.

Sefton Resources and Tom Winnifrith weren't immediately available for comment.

Sefton Resources' shares were suspended on AIM Wednesday morning at the request of the company pending a statement, and the company said in the statement that the suspension would remain in place for the time being.
