LONDON (Alliance News) - Henderson EuroTrust PLC said Thursday that Nicola Ralston has now succeeded Mark Tapley as chairman of the company, and its portfolio outperformed the benchmark in the first-half of its financial year.
Net asset value rose by 2.6% while the FTSE World Europe (ex UK) Index appreciated by 1.7% in the six months to January 31.
The trust said sterling's appreciation against the euro held back the increase. At the end of January, almost 70% of the trust's investments were held in France, Germany and Switzerland.
The trust had previously said Ralston would succeed Tapley by the end of March. Ralston has served as a director of the firm since September 1, 2013. Tapley has served as chairman for the past seven years and a director for 14 years.
The firm also said John Cornish has been appointed as senior independent director of the firm with immediate effect.
Shares in Henderson EuroTrust were trading 0.38% higher at 794.5 pence per share Thursday.
