UPDATE: Admiral chair leaves Experian for Nationwide Building Society

8th Jan 2026 13:33

(Alliance News) - Admiral Group PLC Chair Mike Rogers is to retire from the same role at Experian PLC to become chair of Nationwide Building Society, according to announcements from the three companies on Thursday.

Rogers completed nine years as a director and seven years as chair at Experian.

Nationwide said Rogers is to succeed Kevin Parry as chair of Nationwide, Virgin Money and Clydesdale Bank on July 16, subject to approval at its annual general meeting the day before. Cardiff-headquartered insurer Admiral confirmed the appointment shortly afterwards.

Parry, who became chair in 2022 and is currently the firm's longest serving director, will step down after the AGM on July 15.

Prior to this, he will join Swindon, England-based Nationwide's board as deputy chair and an independent non-executive director on April 1.

"After a rigorous search process, the board is delighted to appoint [Rogers] as our next chair," Senior Independent Director Tracey Graham commented. "He stood out as an ideal candidate, with extensive industry experience and strong leadership credentials that align with Nationwide's mutual values.

"The board is confident that [Rogers] will provide the strategic guidance and stewardship needed to continue our success."

Rogers, who has served on Dublin-based Experian's board for almost nine years, intends to step down at the conclusion of the consumer credit checking firm's AGM on July 22. He was appointed as chair in July 2019.

"It has been my privilege to work with such a highly talented team, with its outstanding and dynamic culture," Rogers said. "Together, we have made great progress both strategically and financially.

"I shall leave knowing that Experian is well-positioned for the next phase of its journey, and I would like to thank the board, the leadership team and all my Experian colleagues for their commitment and support."

Shares in Experian were 2.5% lower at 3,357.00 pence on Thursday afternoon in London. Admiral shares were 0.2% higher at 3,056.00p each.
